Massage is a treatment modality that manipulates the soft tissues of the body including movement for a specific, rather than general, therapeutic effect. Techniques are adapted to an individual’s specific needs.

Reflexology is a system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands and head linked to every part of the body. The use of gentle pressure on specific points on the feet can enable the body’s energy to flow freely, inducing harmony physically, mentally and emotionally, and clearing any imbalances or blockages that could result in illness. This treatment improves circulation, stimulates the immune system and encourages the release and removal of toxins. Whilst it does not diagnose or claim to offer cures, reflexology has been shown to be effective for body pain, headaches/migraines, infertility, arthritis, sleep disorders, injuries, hormonal imbalances, digestive problems and stress-related conditions.

Sports and Deep Tissue Massage are similar to Swedish Massage, but both incorporate deeper pressure, which assists in the releasing of chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layer of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints), so this type of massage helps to promote and keep muscular and joint flexibility, thereby enhancing performance and reducing the risk of injury.

Remedial Massage is a treatment modality that manipulates the soft tissues of the body including movement for a specific, rather than general, therapeutic effect. Techniques are adapted to an individual’s specific needs. This type of massage is useful for the relief of muscular and joint problems, including back, neck and shoulder pain.

Holistic Massage treats the “whole person”, encouraging wellbeing for mind and body. Holistic massage is an ancient form of healing that helps clear the lymphatic drainage system and releases toxins from the body. This type of massage induces feelings of relaxation.

“Champissage”, or Indian Head Massage, is a seated massage that concentrates on the shoulders, neck scalp and face. It is excellent for stress, headaches, eye strain and insomnia. Please note these treatments are for 30 minutes only and oils are not used in the hair.

Myofascial Release is a soft tissue therapy for muscular pain and stiffness. The aim is to relax contracted muscles, improve blood and lymphatic circulation and stimulate the stretch reflex in muscles. It is a technique very different to massage that works on the fascial system in the body, which is an integrated, totally connected, uninterrupted network of fibrous tissue that spreads through the body. Integrated Myofascial Release is a gentle technique that can produce a very powerful release.

Reflexology is a safe and effective way to reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, restore balance and relieve tension in expectant mothers.

Whether trying to conceive naturally or undergoing assisted conception, reflexology can help facilitate a balance of mind, body and spirit in order to create the best environment for conception. For those experiencing difficulties, this treatment can also provide relief to the emotional and stressful aspects of trying to conceive.
